Built to Last: The beauty of waxed cotton lies in its durability and longevity. The densely woven cotton is strong, reliable, and can be maintained by the wearer—unlike many alternatives. Additionally, the Bushman’s Waxed Oilskin Vest features a 40D 300T polyester woven pongee fabric, providing added protection and comfort. The middle padding is 120gsm, ensuring a lightweight yet insulated feel, while the back is constructed from 10gsm nonwoven quilted material for breathability and flexibility.

Over time, as you wear the vest, the wax naturally begins to wear off, particularly in areas with frequent movement, like under the arms, elbows, and sides. These areas will begin to show the original dyed fabric underneath, creating a beautiful contrast. It’s a natural process, and part of what makes waxed cotton so unique—its ability to change with you.

To keep your Bushman’s Waxed Oilskin Vest in top condition, we offer wax tins in two sizes: 50ml and 200ml. How often you need to re-wax depends on how frequently you wear it, but we recommend a yearly re-wax to maintain the vest’s protective finish and keep it looking its best.
